November 27th, Waltham, MA, 2018; The NCAA Women’s Division 3 National Championship Tournament is getting ever closer to crowning a winner with the semifinal and title game to be held over this weekend.
Both semifinal legs on Friday night will see GPS represented on the pitch.
Freshman Rose Evans and Middlebury (18-1-3) will take on Wash. - St. Louis (21-0-0) Friday November 30 at 5pm. Liz Webber and Williams (17-1-4) will take on Chris. Newport (21-1-0) following the prior matchup with kickoff planned for 7:45pm.
Rose Evans has featured heavily for the Middlebury Panthers during her freshman season.
She has appeared in 21 games total, 11 of those being starts. While not getting on the scoresheet herself she was part of a unit that scored 43 goals and conceded only 9 throughout the season.
The Panthers sit ranked #3 in the United Soccer Coaches’ poll and it is easy to see why. They ended the regular season with an impressive 13-1-1 record, setting themselves up for a successful postseason run.
The Panthers would go on to claim the NESCAC title, their fourth conference title in program history and their first since 2013, after beating none other than Liz Webber and Williams College in the final.
Williams College’s only loss on the season came in that NESCAC final. Coincidently, Middlebury lost only one game on the season which happened to be against Williams College.
Webber has appeared in 21 games for the #5 ranked Ephs, starting in 10 of them. Webber got her name on the scoresheet once on the season and, like Evans, was part of an elite back unit that allowed less than half a goal a game.
