Lady Crusaders Picks up Athlete of the Month

October 9th, Waltham, MA, 2018; GPS MA would like to recognize alum Abby Sullivan who’s making a name for herself north of the border.

The Orleans, MA native was named Female Athlete of the Month at the University of New Brunswick.  Sullivan has been a particular bright spot for the Varsity Reds this season scoring 2 goals and assisting another in their opening six fixtures.  Abby joined GPS at 13 and spent the majority of her high school years with the GPS Lady Crusaders before joining up with her sister Katie (also a GPS Alum) in Fredericton.

Sullivan’s influence is not limited to the stat sheet alone however, with her infectious work rate impacting the team.

“Abby presses our opponents defence and sets the work ethic standard for our group,” said Reds head coach Jon Crossland. “She plays on the edge each game and that has an influence on our team in a positive way.”

Sullivan and the Varsity Reds are back in action next weekend, Oct 12th, against Acadia.
