Over 30s and Over 56s Enter playoffs

June 22nd Waltham, MA, 2018; GPS Adult teams are enjoying another successful spring as they compete in a number of leagues across the state.

Leading the way are the GPS Massachusetts Over 30s team who clinched the Division 1 South title by compiling a 6-2-2 record on their way to the North Regional championship.  The O-30s will face FC Hudson in the semi-finals this Sunday at Forekicks (8.30am kick off).

Also in the playoffs are the O-56s, known as GPS Gold FC who came in second in Division 1 South despite only dropping one game in a 7-1-2 season.  They will face Juventus Everett FC in their semi, again this Sunday at Madeline English School in Everett.

Falling short of the playoffs narrowly were the O-40s who came in third in Division 1 South.  After a strong season, a final day defeat to league winners Shake Shake FC, ended the Newton based side’s season.  The ‘40s’ finished the season 5-3-2.

The 0-50s team had a mixed season in which they finished mid-table in Division 1 South.  It was a case of what might have been for the ‘Rhinos’ as despite only suffering two losses, their 6 ties cost them the chance to compete in this weekend’s playoffs.

Meanwhile in the BSSL league, which runs on a April to November schedule, the GPS Omens have enjoyed a strong start and sit one point behind the leaders as the league prepares to enter their summer break.  The Omens are the reigning BSSL League and Cup Champions and also have participated in the US Open Cup in ‘13, ‘14, ‘15 and ‘17.
