15 Teams in Final Four

June 1st Waltham, MA, 2018; GPS teams are preparing for the biggest weekend in the youth soccer calendar as the Massachusetts Super Group and Premier State Cup finals take place in Lancaster this Saturday and Sunday.

The club already has one Championship in the trophy cabinet after the 99 Elite White Boys triumphed in May.  With the new structures in place the club has significant presence through its Elite and Regional programs across the Super Group and Premier Group competitions.

Nine teams will be gunning for glory in the Super Group division across both boys and girls and all age age groups from U13-U17.  Notably at the 2004 Boys age group both the Elite Red and Elite White are in the semi-finals. The remaining GPS teams in the competition are B2005 Elite Red, B2003 Elite Red, G2003 Elite Red, B2002 Elite Red, G2002 Elite Red, B2001 Elite Red and G2001 Elite Red.  Teams who win the State Cup will travel to the US Club Soccer National Cup finals in Colorado.

Over in the Premier division six teams will be in the semi-finals and be challenging for spots in the US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional Championships in Virginia.  Representing GPS will be B2005 and B2004 West Elite Red, G2004 and G2002 Elite White, B2003 Metro North Elite Red and G2001 GPS Fortis.

“We are delighted to see so many GPS teams reaching the final four of the State Championships in both the Super and Premier divisions,” said GPS Premier Director Matt Hardiman.  “The success across the different tiers of the clubs program is testament to the consistent developmental approach of GPS and the hard work of all coaches and players,” added Hardiman.
