Pre-Id and Bayern ID programs kick off the new year

It was a busy weekend for the Pre-ID and FC Bayern ID program as all but the Boys 06 and Boys 07 teams were in action at this weekend's Scorpion Bowl.

The Girls 07 and 06 squads were the only FC Bayern ID teams in action, with the Boys 07 and 06 teams not participating in a tournament over the weekend with their gaze fixed firmly on their trip to Munich in 2 weeks.

The three teams (2007 Red and White and 2006 Red) had a strong weekend putting together an impressive 5 win 1 draw and 1 loss record.

The Girls 06 teams finished 2nd in their group over the weekend winning two out of their three matchups 2 with the 07 teams both winning their respective divisions.

In addition the 2008 and 2009 Pre-ID groups also had successful displays. The Boys 08 team competing in the 07 bracket put together some good performances against older opposition and managed to win one of the three games they played, losing the other two by close margins.

The Girls 08 team competed across a pair of groups and walked away winners in 5 of the 6 matchups they played.  finally the Pre-ID 08 Boys Red and White squads were placed into the same group this weekend where the White squad came out top of the group. The White squad went undefeated on the weekend winning all four of their games with he Red squad finishing the weekend with 2 wins and 2 losses.

Much Like the Boys 09 White squad, the Girls 09 squad went on to dominate the weekend’s competition as they finished up on Saturday undefeated as well.

The Elite Player Pathway is a program specifically designed to cater to the high potential players within the GPS system. It provides them with supplemental training sessions and competitive opportunities aimed at providing the best environment for a player to reach their potential.

The first step of the pathway is the Pre-ID program. This program is opened to children born in 2008 and 2009. The Pre-ID program’s additional training sessions and competitions do not replace the player’s responsibilities to their own club, however.

The second step in the Elite Player Pathway grows with the players and benefits from the support of GPS partner’s Bayern Munich. The FC Bayern ID program is run in conjunction with the Bavarian club.

Open to 06 and 07 boys and girls, the program is evidence of FC Bayern’s commitment to the North American market. The club holds numerous Player ID events throughout the year. The program is built around the FC Bayern curriculum and their methodology.
