Darren Gallagher Named GPS MA Girls Director of Coaching

Former Holy Cross Women’s Coach to Helm Massachusetts’ Girls Program

August 13, Waltham, MA, 2019; Global Premier Soccer are pleased to announce the appointment of Darren Gallagher as GPS Massachusetts’ Girls Director of Coaching. In his role Darren will oversee all aspects of the Girls Elite Program within Massachusetts to ensure that all players have an optimal development environment.

Darren will take a lead role in coaching education to further align the club with the modern philosophies and techniques as they pertain to women’s soccer and will be tasked with raising the national profile of the GPS MA Girls Program.

Darren rejoins the GPS family having served as the club’s Technical Director from 2003 to 2009 under its former moniker Mass Premier Soccer. During his previous stint with the club Darren had significant success developing players and placing them in college programs while winning two US Club Soccer National Championships.

In 2008 he was named Head Coach of Holy Cross Women’s Soccer Program, where he stayed for seven seasons, leading the program to its most wins in a season since 1995 with ten in 2014.

“It feels really good to be back with the club that provided me with such great opportunities early in my career,” said Gallagher. “I’m excited to rejoin our talented coaching staff to help elevate our girls program and fulfill the club’s mission to develop players that can compete at the highest level of soccer around the world.”

“We are extremely excited to have Darren back on our staff and look forward to seeing the attention, care and years of experience he will bring to our Girls Programs,” said GPS DOC Peter Bradley.

“Darren’s experience, specifically his work in women’s soccer at both the youth and collegiate level, has created a fair amount of buzz around the program,” added GPS MA Premier Director Matt Hardiman. “All the staff on the girls side are looking forward to working with him.”
