July 22nd, 2019, Waltham, MA; GPS are pleased to announce the creation of the STATSports SuperCupNI USA Qualifier set to take place later this fall in Rock Hill, SC.
The event, which will take place over the weekend of November 29, will be open to U13, U15 and U17 squads.
The STATSports SuperCupNI, formerly the Milk Cup, is one of the most prestigious youth tournaments in the world attracting youth teams from elite level clubs.
Past participants in the event are Liverpool FC, Newcastle United, Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona, and Everton. Notable former players to have participated in the SuperCupNI are David Beckham, Gary Neville, Sergio Busquets, Wayne Rooney, Marcus Rashford, Mats Hummels and Radamel Falcao amongst many others.
The USA Qualifier will be held in Rock Hill, South Carolina from November 29th to December 1st. The event will see the Champion U15 and U17 teams automatically qualify to compete in Northern Ireland while a third team will be created consisting of the best U13 players from the event.
The 2018 SuperCupNI saw 40 teams from 15 nations represented and participation from Manchester United, Celtic, Rangers, Club America and the Right to Dream Academy. This year the tournament will open up with a special fixture between Manchester United’s U21 and Rangers FC U21 squads.
The event itself is so large in Northern Ireland that the BBC provides live coverage, complete with pundits and game analysis, for all to watch.
