The FC Bayern staff will be taking several trips to the United States this summer to help ID players from the East Coast all the way to the West Coast.

This year, two World Cup Winners will be part of the FC Bayern staff traveling. Klaus Augenthaler, 1990 World Cup Winner and FC Bayern Hall of Famer, will be joined by fellow 1990 World Cup Winner Hans Pfluger. Pfluger played for FC Bayern as a youth player from ‘75 to ‘81 before breaking into the senior squad where he represented FCB for 15 years.

This summer will see yet another major advancement in the GPS FC Bayern partnership with the introduction of a fifth FC Bayern Residential ID Camp this summer.

For the first time ever there will be a FC Bayern Residential ID Camp being held north of the border in Canada at the University of Guelph in Ontario,Canada.

This marks the 3rd year in a row that the FC Bayern Residential ID Camp Program has expanded, with the Midwest and West camp being added in the last two years.

With the addition of Canada, the FC Bayern Residential ID Program will be hosting five camps in total this summer.

The Canada camp was introduced on the back of the successful Midwest Camp hosted last year. The event’s inaugural run helped to showcase the talent on hand from our Canadian partners and pushed us to provide them a camp of their own to shine at.

The West and Midwest Camps will take place during the beginning of August.

The West Camp will once again be held at the University of Santa Barbara in California and will run from August 4-7. The Midwest Camp will take place from August 9-12 at Lake Forest Academy right outside of Chicago, IL.

Following the conclusion of each camp, two players, one boy and one girl, will be selected to travel to Munich in November to experience a week of training at the FC Bayern Campus. FC Bayern staff led by Sebastian Dremmler will be on location to help coach and lead sessions. The camp will feature multiple workshops and training sessions based on the methodology that is applied in Munich with the FC Bayern Junior Teams.

In addition to the four Residential Camps for both 07 & 08 Boys and Girls, the Midwest Camp and the West Camp will host a group of selected 20 Girls 2002-04 in order to increase connectivity with FC Bayern Frauen Program. One player will be selected from amongst the pool of players from both camps to join the other 8 in Munich come November.

The FC Bayern ID Residential Camp is the culmination of the FC Bayern ID programs held throughout the United States during 2018/19 season that focuses on Boys and Girls born in 2007 & 2008.  In 2018/2019 over 1000 have been participating in the program across 22 States.

As part of FC Bayern’s commitment to the US market, the club has put structures in place to coordinate FC Bayern Player ID program across the country. This program offers players a unique training experience delivered under the guidance of the experienced coaching staff at GPS. The aim of the program is to identify players with the potential to become 1st team players capable of representing FC Bayern Munich at a professional level.
