Hear Why These Players Joined the Club and What It Means to Them

June 3rd, 2019, Waltham, MA; Second up in our Team Feature Series is the GPS MA 2002 Elite Red Girls, the #1 ranked team in Massachusetts and #12 in the US as of May 20th (according to GotSoccer).

The core group of players on the team have been competing together for the better part of the last 5 years with some players on the squad preparing to hit 10 years as GPS players.

Much like their 2002 Boys counterparts, the 2002 Girls have proven to be one of the most succesful groups at GPS for the past few years.

The team is currently in the midst of preparing for the NPL Playoffs, happening this weekend in Lancaster, MA. They qualified for the NPL Playoffs after winning the NPL A League title for the second year in a row.

The squad conquered most of the NPL last year, making it all the way to the NPL National Finals, where all of the NPL champions from across the US compete, before losing in the final itself.

The past two seasons, 2018 and 2019, the GPS MA 2002 Elite Red Girls have made it all the way to the Massachusetts State Cup finals but could not manage to overcome the last hurdle.
